    September 17, 2019: Bombus rupestris seen at two separate localities on the same day

Two large Bombus rupestris at Hutton Roof on Red Clover and at Silverdale on Ivy.  Dark wings, sparse body hair, and lack of smooth pollen-collecting area on hind leg (hairy instead) separate it from its host, the social bumblebee, Bombus lapidaries

The surprise arrival of two Small Red-eyed Damselflies at this small pool, found by Allen Holmes. Probably the most northerly site to date of this southern species.

July 26, 2019: Bombus muscorum subspecies agricolae on the very extensive area of kidney vetch in the machair at Balranald, North Uist




The endemic subspecies agricolae (i.e. black-haired below the abdomen) on the highly floristic machair at Balranald, North Uist and is endemic to the Western Isles.
